Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show: Best Dinner Show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee & The Great Smoky Mountains

Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show2713 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863

When it comes to dinner shows in the Pigeon Forge area, there are many to choose from, but none came more highly recommended to us than Dolly Parton’s Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show, and it did not disappoint! The swashbuckling entertainment started from the moment we checked in, and there truly was something for everyone.

Ahoy Me Hearties!

Enjoy pirate life on the high seas in the heart of The Smoky Mountains with Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show! Owned & operated by Dolly Parton and located on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge, within walking distance from both The Island Pigeon Forge and Margaritaville Island Hotel, Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show is the absolute perfect dining experience for the entire family while you’re in town.

This family-friendly dinner theater is set inside a rustic barn with stadium-style seating. The entertainment is high-energy, and the southern-style food is absolutely delicious! Read on to find out why this is one attraction in Pigeon Forge you won’t want to miss!

During our time in Pigeon Forge, we did not have a dinner show at the top of our list. In all honesty, there are so many incredible dining venues in the area that it’s hard to find time to eat all that good food in just a few days. However, by the fourth day in town, everyone we met kept recommending we book Pirates Voyage & Dinner Show, and now we know why!

From the minute we arrived, the fun of this spectacle at sea began immediately as we were served a few beverages & swept into the auditorium where we were assigned our team – Crimson or Sapphire. The setting is stadium-style which is very similar to that of other dinner shows (think Medieval Times). However, upon entering the auditorium, it was as if we were walking onto a studio backlot or a Hollywood film sound stage -maybe even the set of Pirates of the Caribbean or Steven Spielberg’s Hook – two of our favorites!

Everyone from the attendants out front working the reservation booth to our server at Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show was attentive, warm and welcoming. We were especially impressed with our server who was truly hustling to get every order right and delivered on time. He was even kind enough to snap a few photos of us during the show which was a real treat.

Shiver Me Timbers!

The sets were elaborate from top to bottom, and the theming was beyond immersive with a massive indoor lagoon. This was when we officially became excited! For our dinning experience, we were seated just above mid-level in Team Crimson and we went hard! We were completely in awe of the world-class talent displayed onstage, and the energy they brought with them. There was fire, water, explosions, mermaids, tropical birds, the most adorable dogs & sea lions, swords, singing, comedy, juggling, acrobatics, cheesy slapstick comedy & so much more!

The entire show was a treat for our eyes and the stomach. The visual spectacle on stage equally matched the delicious dinner served alongside it. Bright costumed characters like Captain Blackbeard and Calico Jack flew gracefully through the air and dove into the lagoon all just a few feet from where we were seated. Salty, the Sea Lion was our absolute favorite part of the show, but the dock diving dogs came in a close second. In their younger years, our two Labrador Retrievers would’ve given them a run for their money in the competition category!

We loved seeing the entire cast engage with as much of the audience as they could. There were many times where the actors were fist bumping and high fiving the audience members as they ran by, which again is rare in a dinner show. This absolutely made the day of the little ones in the front rows, and it was so great to see all their smiling faces as the actors acknowledged them!

To us, it’s obvious this is a Dolly Parton Production because this show is all about making sure everyone has a good time, together! We’ve been to a lot of dinner shows, and there is simply nothing we can even compare Pirates too. As a part of Team Crimson or Team Sapphire, everyone in attendance was laughing, cheering, and we became fast friends with all our fellow diners who were seated around us.

Feast Me Hearties!

The action was continuous & didn’t stop, even for the food service which was honestly what impressed us most. When it comes to dinner shows, food is typically where the quality goes down hill. So often, we attend a fantastically entertaining dinner show, but leave hungry and underwhelmed by the quality of food served.

However, taste & quality is not sacrificed at Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show because this is truly both dinner AND a show serving a full four-course feast featuring a delicious warm biscuit, a hearty serving of creamy vegetable (not vegan) soup, sugar-cured ham, a sweet buttery cob of corn, a baked potato, a peach turnover desert and the most delicious pan-fried chicken we’ve ever had at a dinner show (Hoop-De-Doo, comes in at a close second #morechickenmorechicken).

The creamy soup was fantastic – we kid you not! Jared still dreams about Pirate’s soup to this day – for real & if we could recreate it at home, we would.

If this menu isn’t for you, don’t worry. Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show also serves Gluten-Free, Egg-Free, Peanut Allergy Meal, Vegetarian, Vegan & Dairy-Free options as well in order for everyone to enjoy the feast. This is a rare find for us at dinner shows, so we very much appreciated the flexibility with our various dietary restrictions. Our server was very knowledgeable when it came to questions regarding ingredients, so feel free to ask away! Unlimited servings of Coca-Cola products, coffee, water, and tea are all included but alcoholic beverages are an additional charge.

Yo Ho Ho!

  • Three Shows take place per day weekdays Monday through Sunday 3:00 p.m.; 6:00 p.m. & 8:30 p.m.
  • Parking is free at the venue, and it is easily located within walking distance from The Island Pigeon Forge and many hotels along The Parkway
  • Do your server a favor, and tip them in cash. Trust us, they will appreciate it
  • Standard Admission Tickets for the show range from $67.99 USD/per adult & $34.99 USD/per child for the 3:00 p.m. & 8:30 p.m. shows to $94.99 USD/per adult for the 6:00 p.m. show
  • Premium Seating is available at an additional $5.00 USD/per person for each show, but we did not choose this option. Honestly, we can’t imagine there being a bad seat in the house, but if you have little ones who want in on the action – front row may be something you opt in for
  • The entire venue is handicap accessible, and wireless headsets are available for anyone who may be hearing impaired which makes this the perfect location for a feast the whole family will enjoy
  • A VIP Experience is available for an additional $30.00 USD/per person which includes “the best seats in the house,” a Cast Meet & Greet, a souvenir photo, a lanyard & a flag
  • If your kiddos really want to live the pirates life, book a Pirate or Mermaid Makeover for an additional cost prior to the show in Pirates Village (the Show’s lobby area). The experience is very similar to that of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Walt Disney World, and it really gets the little ones into the spirit of the sea
  • We purchased our tickets online the same day as the show, which was a weekday in September and our show was completely sold out when we arrived, but if you absolutely don’t want to miss out on this show while you’re in town – we highly recommend you book ahead

Thank you Pirates Voyage & Show for an incredible evening of food & fun! Our entire experience was unforgettable & we absolutely can’t wait to return on our next visit to Pigeon Forge. If you loved Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show as much as we did, you’ll be happy to here that they also have a location in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (incase you can’t make it to Pigeon Forge)!
