Anakeesta: Mountaintop Adventure Park in Gatlinburg, Tennessee

on

Anakeesta – 576 Parkway, Gatlinburg, TN 37738

Are you looking for picturesque Great Smoky Mountain Views without the hike? Take a walk in the clouds on a mountain of magic at Anakeesta, an adventure park in the sky, home to an award-winning zip line, a mountain coaster, treetop skywalks, beautifully landscaped vista gardens, shopping, dining, and the best 360-degree views of Great Smoky Mountains in all of Gatlinburg!

Anakeesta is the Cherokee Indian word for “the place of high ground,” and you simply have to experience the beauty of this space in person! During your visit, enjoy a picturesque and relaxing ride on the 4-person chairlift or an open-air semi-enclosed 6-person chondola 600 feet to the top or, if you’re afraid of heights, ride the rambler – an open-air truck that transports around 45 guests up the mountain on a 20-minute guided tour. Once you’re at the top, make your way to one of Anakeesta’s many attractions, dining options and shops.

When it comes to live entertainment, Anakeesta did not disappoint! We stepped off the chair lift and into the gorgeous Smokehouse BBQ & Brewery high atop Gatlinburg where we were welcomed with a live acoustic rendition of Prince’s Purple Rain which, when combined with the phenomenal views of The Smokies, gave us chills – pure mountain magic!

Anakeesta features a number of seasonal events that can’t be missed. We visited during Summer in the Smokies which featured spectacular garden displays, live music, seasonal eats & drinks, and some really impressive Lego creations! Anakeesta is home to good brews & great views year-round, but the Summer in The Smokies seasonal offerings are spectacular featuring a Summer Sangria, Mountain Margarita, Raspberry Mojito and so many others that must be sampled. Beer lovers can enjoy Highland Brewing blends like Hazy Heights and seasonal Peachful, and don’t forget to sample a few of Sugarland Shine’s cocktails as well.

You’ll have to wait for the vlog, but our first mountain coaster experience was a blast at Anakeesta! A very big shout out to Danny at Anakeesta for taking such good care of us and showing us such a good time on our very first ride. As mountain coaster rookies, we weren’t sure what to expect, but Danny took great care of us and made sure we had the best experience possible.

The highlight of our visit to Anakeesta was our walks through the Treetop Skywalk, a series of the longest tree-based skywalk in North America with 880′ of hanging bridges suspended 50-60′ in the air all with spectacular views.
