Just a short 25-minute scenic drive north from Las Vegas, Nevada we found ourselves inside a postcard and in the middle of the desert at one of our Top 5 Golf Courses Ever Played Paiute Golf Resort.
When we arrived in Las Vegas proper and attempted to find a tee time along The Strip, we were in shock at just how pricey the Greens Fees were at many of the popular nearby Casino courses like The Wynn ($550+), etc. After a bit of research, we came across Paiute. We had our own rental car for the trip, so we made the easy drive north of the Strip & into the beautiful Nevada desert. If you don’t have a rental car, many of the casino’s offer transportation when tee times are booked through them. For example, our resort was an MGM Property and they offered shuttle service to and from Paiute when booked through concierge.
Paiute is home to the “Vegas Trifecta” and offering a beautiful Clubhouse, excellent Pro Shop fully stocked with a huge selection of everything you need including fashionable golf attire (think Ralph Lauren, etc.), a Bar/Restaurant, & three breathtakingly beautiful championship courses of play: Sun Mountain, Snow Mountain & The Wolf. Everything from the locker rooms to the golf carts were the definition of luxury, and we never wanted to leave!
Each of Paiute’s three courses are paired with spectacular vista views of the surrounding desert landscape and are meticulously maintained. This is a true golfers oasis! If you’re on a time crunch, make sure you budget in some extra time to snap a few pics of the absolutely breathtaking vista views. We played Sun Mountain one afternoon in January until sundown which allowed us to enjoy a beautiful desert sunset along with our round of golf.

The course is 7,112 yards & offers rolling terrain, sweeping slope changes, water play & Pete Dye’s signature railroad ties. The course conditions were excellent. The greens were firm and fast, and at times they were hard to read but a welcomed challenge. Although this was not an issue for us, we have heard it can get rather windy in the canyon, so be prepared.

Our Greens Fees at Paiute included 18 holes, a top-of-the-line and surprisingly accurate GPS Golf Cart packed with fresh water, & iced towels. We were offered water throughout our play to ensure that we stayed hydrated.
Paiute offers a “bounceback” deal with 20% off multiple days played, so if you’re in Vegas for more than a few days and have the time, this deal may be worth it for you!
Everyone we met at Paiute was amazing! From Bag Drop to the Pro Shop Staff to the Bartenders, Beverage Carts & the Starter/Course Rangers, everyone went above & beyond to make us feel welcome & ensure that we enjoyed every minute of our time at Paiute. We left feeling like we didn’t just play a round of golf, but we also made new friends thanks to the wonderful hospitality of the Resort’s staff

Over the years, we’ve heard many rave about the golf courses along the Las Vegas Strip, but in our opinion, nothing can beat getting outside of the hustle & bustle of Las Vegas and into the peaceful & natural desert landscape of Paiute. This was our first time playing a desert course, and it certainly will not be our last!
Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort is easily our favorite set of tracks in the Vegas-area!
