Walt Disney World Resort Guide: Four Seasons Orlando Resort – The Perfect Mix of Luxury & Disney Magic

Four Seasons Orlando Walt Disney World Resort – 10100 Dream Tree Blvd, Golden Oak, FL 32836

Welcome to the pinnacle of luxury at the Walt Disney World Resort, the Four Seasons Orlando.  Nestled within the private residential community of Disney’s Golden Oak & surrounded by a certified Audubon wildlife sanctuary, Four Seasons Orlando has everything your heart desires for your next Walt Disney World vacation – and so much more.

Move over Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa! There’s a reason Four Seasons Orlando has been named the No. 1 Hotel and Resort in Orlando for seven years straight ( … and the No. 6 Hotel and Resort in the United States) by US World News & Report.  From character breakfasts, a world class spa & wellness center, and complimentary theme park transportation to spacious suites each with terrace views, Four Seasons Orlando has the perfect mix of luxury & Disney magic.

Upon entering the lobby at Four Seasons Orlando, guests are greeted with the sparkling luminosity of overhead chandeliers.  These light fixtures are brilliantly designed to evoke the nighttime fireworks that have become synonymous with the Walt Disney World Resort, and they are beautiful both day and night. The grand staircase below is lined with an array of hidden mickeys woven into the staircase, but this isn’t where the magic ends as soft subtle touches of Disney magic continue to surround you as you continue to explore the resort.  Everywhere from the guestrooms, hallways, and beyond offers subtle Disney details that may not be visible to the naked eye but true Disney fans will find them – everywhere!

We can absolutely say, without a doubt, that the grounds of Four Seasons Orlando Resort Walt Disney World are some of the most beautiful and immaculately maintained landscapes that we’ve ever seen.  We cannot express how much we appreciated this as it is something that is often overlooked at other hotels and resorts.  With a professional background in landscape and agriculture, this is usually the very first thing we notice and typically, have to overlook.  However, and fortunately for us, this was not the case at Four Seasons Orlando.

Everything from the perfectly placed greenery to the subtle outdoor lighting fixtures is not only beautiful but could easily be the setting for any one of Walt Disney’s fairytales. In addition, the one thing that we enjoyed most, aside from the lush greenery and overall landscape design, was that the main Resort tower building itself was not obnoxiously illuminated in the evening hours like so many other hotels and resorts in the Orlando-area.  This is not the Las Vegas strip after all, and we found ourselves overcome with a peaceful feeling that radiated through the Resort throughout our stay at Four Seasons Orlando morning and night.

Accommodations

With over 440 resort rooms and twelve room categories, including suites, there is a resort room waiting for you at Four Seasons Orlando.

We had the pleasure of staying in a Park View room with a king bed.  The interior of the rooms, as well as the rest of the resort, was simple, modern, and timeless.  The main theme of the room seemed to be function which we loved.  When traveling, it’s always hard to find space for everything, but at Four Seasons Orlando, our room seemed to have the perfect spot for everything.  It is clear a lot of thought went into the design and layout of the guest rooms.

Our room included a large entryway, an open-concept closet with ample storage that also serves as the hallway between the bathroom and the resort room itself, a full size bathroom with separate shower, toilet, jacuzzi tub, double sink, and in-mirror television, a king size bed, a sleeper sofa, as well as a desk and a table to work or dine.

Some of our favorite design features of the room were:

  • Bose wireless bluetooth speakers that were extremely helpful during Zoom calls while we were at the resort;
  • a walk-in closet with shelving, drawers, and plenty of space to hang your park-hopping wardrobe;
  • built-in cabinets in the main living area that lined the bedroom wall where we found a refrigerator and full-size safe.  these cabinets also had plenty of room where we stored more clothing along with all of our personal items and even our theme park merchandise;
  • a marble bathroom featuring high ceilings, a full-size deep soaking jacuzzi tub, double sinks, and a separate glassed standup shower and toilet that all rivaled any deluxe resort at Walt Disney World; and
  • we also couldn’t get enough of the subtle Disney touches in our resort room that reference everything from fireworks to Spaceship Earth!

What wasn’t included in the description was that this isn’t just a “park view” room, it is a FOUR theme park view room.  We could see all four theme parks from our terrace including Magic Kingdom, EPCOT Center, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom! In addition to the views of Walt Disney World’s four theme parks, we could also see the entirety of the Four Seasons Orlando resort as well including the water park, pools, spa, golf course, and wildlife sanctuary.

In the evenings, we’d watch as the Orlando sun set over the Magic Kingdom horizon.  In the mornings, the sun would radiate off of Bay Lake Towers and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.  Unfortunately, fireworks were not taking place during our stay due to COVID-19 restrictions, but if you were to book this room during a time when fireworks were offered, you would absolutely be able to enjoy them from the privacy of your own terrace.

Hands down, this was the best view we’ve had while staying at a Resort in the Central Florida area.  This view was worth every penny and if outdoor spaces and views are important when choosing your accommodations, we highly recommend you spend the additional money on a Theme Park View Room.

We had the absolute best sleeps of our lives at Four Seasons Orlando thanks to the peacefulness of this beautiful and tranquil Resort, our room’s heavenly king size bed with sumptuous sheets and plush oversize pillows, & the over 28,000 steps we get in after a full day of park hopping. This is how a vacation should feel: restful, relaxing, and luxurious.  We loved the bedding at Four Seasons Orlando so much so that we purchased our own set once we got home in an attempt to recreate the amazing sleeps we had at Four Seasons Orlando!

Cheers to breakfast on the terrace with a view of Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Life and Expedition Everest

Out of all the things we love about Four Seasons Orlando, & trust us there are many, our terrace was the spot we enjoyed most. From dining room service al fresco to a post-park hopping retreat, our theme park view terrace has been one of the highlights of our stay Four Seasons Orlando.  Morning, noon, & night, we loved spending time on our terrace. The best part, every single room at Four Seasons Orlando has a terrace!

Amenities

Across the Resort’s 26 acres of lush Floridian landscape you will find a spa, six restaurants, bars, a water park, golf course, kids clubs, boutiques, sports club, fitness center, meeting and event spaces, and a business center.

5-Acre Water Park

If you know us at all, you know how much we love a good water park. When we learned Blizzard Beach & Typhoon Lagoon would be closed during our visit, but that Walt Disney World’s only Five Diamond Awarded resort Four Seasons Orlando was home to its very own water park, we were sold! Whether you want to spend the day swimming, floating, lounging or sliding, Four Seasons Orlando has it all & so much more – including its very own Water Park.

Explorer Island, beautifully themed around a former Citrus Plantation, is home to Four Seasons Orlando Resort’s 5-acre playground for water-lovers of all ages including:

  • A Zero-entry Family infinity Pool featuring stadium-style seating
  • A Splash Zone that rivals most Disney feature pools
  • The Drifter, a relaxing Lazy River
  • Oasis, a lakefront adults-only retreat
  • Hot Tubs
  • Open & enclosed big & small Water Slides
  • Cruise-ship style swim-up movies poolside all day long
  • A Climbing Wall
  • PB&G Lakefront Restaurant
  • Towel, food, & drink service provided by the best Pool Staff in the business

Oasis: Adults-Only

A peaceful & private lakefront escape for adults at Four Seasons Orlando.  The infinity pool at Oasis is the perfect spot to escape the crowds and unwind after a day of park hopping.  It is the first pool you’ll come across while exploring the Resort.  Upon arrival, Four Seasons Orlando’s incredible pool attendants will help you find the perfect spot to lounge poolside, welcome you with your very own pitcher of ice water, and a few of Four Seasons’ signature pool towels.  The underwater sound system was also an excellent feature!

The Drifter, Lazy River

During our time at Four Seasons Orlando, we spent hours drifting along the Resort’s expansive lazy river that was a blast both day and night thanks.  Water features, including bubbling rapids and a nine-foot waterfall, line the river creating another way to keep riders cool in the Florida heat.  Not only is this one of the most relaxing spots in all of Walt Disney World, but it is also one of the most beautiful.  The river waters wind through the Resort’s lush tropical landscape of Sabal Palms and feature views of Four Seasons Orlando from a number of vantage points throughout your journey.

Splash Zone

Perhaps the most picturesque of all the water park’s features is the Splash Zone.  Here is where the theming of Explorer Island really takes over.  The Splash Zone features the ruins of the site’s former plantation and it is here that beautifully choreographed fountains of water in all directions and even features launches up to thirty feet high!

We camped out by the Splash Zone often just for the fountain show
The Splash Zone is so beautifully themed from every angle
A smaller splash pad is located to the side for little ones

Family Pool

At 7, 590 feet, the family pool can be found lakefront and it features stadium-style seating, food, and drink service.  If you’re not looking to have the service come to you, this spot is also the closets to PB&G restaurant where you can grab a bite to go or have a full-service sit-down meal on the lake.  This is the perfect spot for families with young children or anyone with mobility issues thanks to the zero-entry feature which creates a beach-like setting. Kiddos will also love the underwater sound system!

One of the things we loved most about the family pool were the nightly swim-up movies.  Disney Resorts are famous for their “Movies Under the Stars” where they typically project a movie nightly on the beach (Grand Floridian/Yacht & Beach Club) or a grassy lawn area at the resort (Polynesian/Port Orleans/Boardwalk), but the idea of swimming in the heated waters of Four Seasons Orlando’s Family Pool under the stars to your favorite Disney classics was on a whole other level! In addition, movies are shown throughout the day instead of just during the evening hours.  This reminded us very much of being on a cruise at sea and enjoying a few movies at the pool.

Chips, Salsa and Guac by the pool were the perfect addition to our pool days at the Splash Pad

Travel Tip: For a real treat, grab a cabana, a signature cocktail, and enjoy! One of our favorite of the Resort’s signature cocktails, and the most fitting, was the Drifters Punch – a perfect blend of cachaca, coconut water, banana liquor, and fresh lime juice.

Another delicious Four Seasons Orlando cocktail at the Splash Pad

Travel Tip: Looking to remain socially distant from other vacationers? no problem! Grab a lounger in one of Explorer Island’s many secluded relaxation areas all close enough to the fun, offer food, drink, & towel service, but also far enough away to still enjoy from a safe distance.

What we love most about Four Seasons Orlando’s water park is that it is the perfect mix of kids & adults.  While the Family Pool & Splash Zone are full of kiddos young and old having the time of their lives, the Oasis adults-only pool is a peaceful & relaxing retreat.

Tranquilo Golf Club

Four Seasons Orlando guests have access to the exclusive and private, Tranquilo Golf Club.  The Tom Fazio-designed Par 71 course is located in Disney’s private residential community of Golden Oak, a certified Audubon Sanctuary, and home to the LPGA’s Diamond Resort’s Tournament.  The greens were fast and perfectly manicured.  The puts were challenging but not impossible.

We never wanted to leave the immaculate driving range of Traniquilo
Golf cart pathways through the woodland preserve transported us from one hole to the next

The clubhouse staff was friendly and welcoming, especially given that this was our first time playing the course.  While Jared brought his own clubs along on the flight, Janine rented her clubs through the Four Seasons Orlando Pro Shop to experience that benefit.  The club fitting process went smoothly, and she really enjoyed her rentals.  Golf carts were sporty, well-maintained, and equipped with GPS navigation.  The practice facilities were in pristine condition from the driving range to the putting areas.  PRO V1 range balls were available on the range.

Every hole at Tranquilo is a work of art, but the 18th hole, with its views of Four Seasons Orlando Resort, was by far our favorite

Tranquillo challenged us for 18 holes with fast greens, significant elevation changes, water hazards, and firm white sand bunkers.  Thanks to the fabulous design, layout, and beautiful surroundings of Tranquilo, every hole seemed to be more beautiful than the last.  Hands down, Tranquilo is the best golf facility we’ve had the pleasure of playing in the United States.

Spa

From the eucalyptus steam room and the spa lounges to our phenomenal treatments, this is what vacation dreams are made of.  We’ve experienced our fair share of Orlando spas, including Senses at Grand Floridian, Saratoga Springs, and Coronado as well as Mandara Spa at Swan & Dolphin, and we can say without a doubt that this was the best spa experience we’ve ever had in Central Florida! From the moment we entered the spa reception to the minute we exited, we were treated with exceptional service and pampered to the fullest.

The spa at Four Seasons Orlando is perhaps most famous for a particular treatment, the Fire & Ice Facial, and it is highly recommended!

We had an amazing spa day at the Four Seasons Orlando spa which ended with us enjoying a glass of champagne and a quiet moment together post-treatment on one of the spa’s private outdoor patios overlooking the Resort landscape.

Shopping

If you love Disney merchandise, the boutiques at Four Seasons Orlando are for you!

Fable – Designer Disney collaborations are available like Missoni Minnie Mouse Ears as well as other popular brands like Lilly Pulitzer and Tory Burch.

Personal shopping services are offered for an additional fee to help guests style their vacation wardrobe.  Whether you’re looking for the perfect Disney-bound, theme park attire, or a new swimsuit, the Stylists at Fable will hand select a few fabulous options and deliver them to your resort room.  Try on the selections and keep what you like or nothing.  Either way, the cost of the service becomes a shopping credit for your next purchase.

Kids for All Seasons Program

Perhaps the best part of our childhood at Walt Disney World was experiencing the kids clubs like The Never-Neverland Club at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and the Sandcastle Club at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resort.  It was a great opportunity for us to get to know other kids our age, play games, do crafts, watch movies, and share a meal while our parents enjoyed a day at the pool, in the parks, or a Disney Date Night on their own.  However, the cost to utilize the childcare programs at Disney-owned resorts can quickly add up.

Kids will love the complimentary Peter Pan-approved “Kids for All Seasons” daily resort activities program where arts, crafts, sports, entertainment and Disney magic combine at The Mansion (kiddos ages 4 to 12), and The Hideout (tweens/teens ages 12 and up) features video games and foosball and pool tables.  The various clubs are available daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  The best part? Unlike other childcare programs at the Walt Disney World Resort, the Kids for All Seasons Program is completely free and included in your stay.

In addition, Magical Moments, Four Season’s version of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where all their Prince and Princess dreams can come true for an addition fee.

Dining

Four Seasons Orlando guests will never have to leave the Resort thanks to the amazing array of dining available at the Resort which is home to six restaurants ranging from casual to elegant.

Capa

Located on the top floor of the Four Seasons Orlando Resort, Capa is a Spanish steakhouse serving tapas or small plates. For a special treat, arrange a reservation around Fireworks at one of Walt Disney World’s four theme parks, and enjoy them from the restaurant’s private terrace.

Unfortunately, Capa was closed during our stay.  We visited during the COVID-19 global pandemic, and there were so many of Orlando’s best restaurants (not just at Walt Disney World Resort) that were closed during our time in Orlando – but we are looking forward to the day we can return back to Four Seasons Orlando and finally dine at Capa!

Ravello – Table Service restaurant serving Breakfast and Dinner

For breakfast, book a character breakfast with Goofy, Minnie & Mickey Mouse at Ravello that the whole family will love.  This is, by far, the best character meal at Walt Disney World!

POLPETTINE – Meatballs, Mortadella, Prosciutto, Pomodoro Sauce, Mascarpone, Grilled Pane Pugliese
RISOTTO – Shrimps, Saffron Risotto
RAVIOLI – Veal, Spinach, Ricotta, Wild Mushrooms, Truffle Essence

We had an anniversary dinner to remember at Ravello, one of Four Seasons Orlando’s signature dining venues, and our vote for best Italian cuisine in Walt Disney World (sorry ,not sorry Via Napoli).  The atmosphere, the service, & the food were out of this world! It was a night we’ll never forget, and the perfect spot for your next Disney Date Night.

PB&G

Four Seasons Orlando does everything right, including the food service at the Resort’s pool bar – an area often overlooked by so many other restaurants.  This relaxing poolside restaurant serving lunch items such as fresh chips, salsa, and guacamole, salmon carpaccio, and fish tacos.  The vibe is beach shack-chic, the cocktail list is not only innovative but delicious from start to finish, and the service is fantastic.

Plancha

Located inside the clubhouse of Tranquilo Golf Club, Plancha’s menu is a mix of delicious Cuban-American and Mexican-inspired dishes offering both indoor and outdoor seating.  This is spot is the perfect 19th hole!

Lickety Split

A lobby café serving coffee and gelato.  Jared enjoyed a delicious iced coffee during our stay that was made from a cold-pressed brewing machine.

Room Service

An incredible room service menu is available day and night at Four Seasons Orlando.  We opted to order breakfast service via our in-room tablet.

The process was simple, and the ease of ordering electronically was a bonus as we were able to customize each of our menu items along with the delivery time to ensure our order was just right.

Housekeeping

Perhaps the biggest factor for us in choosing Four Seasons Orlando for this stay was housekeeping.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Walt Disney World owned & operated resort hotels were experiencing modified housekeeping services in where guestrooms only received a “light” housekeeping on an every other day basis.  This light housekeeping service included trash removal, towel replenishment, and a light cleaning. It did not include changing the bed linens or cleaning the bathroom.  We recently stayed at a Walt Disney World owned & operated resort (not a DVC) during COVID-19, and our room was not touched by housekeeping until the fifth day of our stay.  We unfortunately had to call the front desk several times and then it was escalated to management before we could get fresh towels and our trash removed.  This was unacceptable.

A number of other Good Neighbor hotels within the Walt Disney World Resort required that guests pay extra for daily housekeeping services.  For us, daily housekeeping is a must, and when we learned Four Seasons Orlando offers twice-daily housekeeping, we were sold!

The housekeeping at Four Seasons Orlando was very reminiscent of old-school Walt Disney World service.  It even featured a nightly turn-down service that we haven’t experienced at Disney for many years! There is nothing better than returning to your room after a long day in the parks to a clean room and a turned down bed!

Complimentary Theme Park Transportation

As if staying at the most luxurious resort in central Florida wasn’t enough, waking up in the middle of the magic is simply a dream come true.  From rope drop warriors to late night Larry’s, Four Seasons seamlessly transports it’s guests in style via luxury moto coaches (a major upgrade from Walt Disney World Transportation) to and from the theme parks, so you can visit the Parks as often or as little as you’d like.

During our stay, the moto coaches were operating every thirty minutes transporting guests to and from the Transportation and Ticket Center (hereinafter referred to as “TTC”) where we boarded a Monorail to EPCOT Center or Magic Kingdom.  Ferry Boat transportation is also available from TTC to Magic Kingdom.

In addition, the Resort offers on-site valet parking for those choosing to rent a car during their trip to Orlando.

Service

Four Seasons Orlando was our first introduction into the Four Seasons-brand of hotels.  However, we are not knew to the Walt Disney World/Orlando hotel scene.  Over the years, we have stayed at every Disney-owned resort multiple times and a few of the nearby “Good Neighbor” hotels in the Orlando and Universal area.  For us, Four Seasons Orlando has clearly set the bar when it comes to service.

The luxury Four Seasons experience begins the moment you arrive at Four Seasons Orlando thanks to the kind members of Bell Services who did a fabulous job making us feel at home.  They greeted us, collected our luggage, we shared a few laughs, and they answered all of our questions (where do we store our golf bags, etc.).

Trust us when we tell you that no Resort in Central Florida even comes close to offering the wide-range of resort amenities that Four Seasons Orlando Resort does.  After years of searching, we’ve finally found the perfect accommodations for us in Central Florida – Four Seasons Orlando! The Resort is the perfect mix of luxury and Disney magic for solo travelers, couples, and families.

We hope you have the opportunity to experience a stay at Four Seasons Orlando soon.  However, if you aren’t ready to book a resort stay at Four Seasons Orlando, reserve a meal at either Capa or Ravello – you will not be disappointed!
